Methodology
How we compare prices
Observations, not estimates
Each price is stored as an observation with its registrar, currency, source and the date it was read. Nothing is published until it is verified, and unverified figures stay hidden rather than appearing as a guess.
Renewal decides the cost
First-year promotions are labelled as promotions. Renewal price and three-year total are shown next to them so a cheap first year is never mistaken for a cheap domain.
Price sets the ranking
Tables are sorted by price. Group-owned and commercial partners are labelled and receive no ranking advantage.
Availability comes from registrars
Availability lookups are served by registrar APIs. We do not scrape registrar sites, and when a lookup is unavailable we say so instead of showing a stale answer.
