What tournament week is like in the UAE

When the tour comes to Abu Dhabi or Dubai, the whole golf city shifts. Here is how to plan the week, whether you are watching or playing.

Tickets come from the tour, not the club

Spectator access for DP World Tour events is sold through the official event pages. Club pro shops do not handle it, and third-party resale listings often appear before dates are even confirmed.

Host courses close to visitors

Expect the host layout to be unavailable for public play for at least the tournament week, and often the days either side. Neighbouring clubs get noticeably busier.

Where to play instead

Book a course in a different part of the city, or take an early tee time on a floodlit layout after a day at the tournament. The week before and the week after are the calmest windows on the host course.

Practice days are the best value

Pro-am and practice days give the closest access to players and the quietest walking, which makes them the most rewarding days for a first tournament visit.
