Prepare your application for UAE employers
Most UAE vacancies attract high application volume, so clarity wins. This guide covers what to prepare before you start applying, and how to present it so a recruiter can assess you in seconds.
Prepare once, apply many times
- A one- or two-page CV in reverse-chronological order, with role, employer, location and dates.
- Measurable outcomes rather than duties — volume handled, revenue, guests served, team size, systems used.
- Certificates and licences relevant to your field, with issuing body and expiry where applicable.
- Languages, with an honest level for each.
- Your current location, notice period and visa status stated plainly.
- A professional photo only where it is customary for the role and market.
Per application
- Mirror the job title and the two or three requirements the advert emphasises.
- Apply through the employer's own careers page or the original posting.
- Keep a record of where and when you applied, and to whom.
- Follow up once, politely, after about a week.
Never do this
Do not invent experience, education, licences or language ability, and do not let anyone else add them for you. UAE employers verify credentials, and a failed check ends the process.
